My short video for The Guardian profiles two low-wage workers from Boston and their Fight For $15. I researched, filmed and edited this video. Read more here.
OUR NEW HOME
When COVID-19 restrictions eased and Justworks employees headed to their new workplace for the first time, I asked six of them to record their experience and provided them guidance and advice on how best to record their experiences. Combining their documentation with hyper-lapse and time-lapse that I filmed, I built an edit that captures the anticipation and experience of that first day in the office following the relative isolation imposed by COVID.
The Memorial Day cook-out hosted by my neighbours, food journalist Matt Gross and sommelier, Jeff Porter is an annual celebration of food and friendship. Each year the smoked pig gets bigger, the guest-list swells and for the two cooks, the pressure to satisfy appetites grows ever-more intense.
TEA PARTY ENVIRONMENTALIST
Debbie Dooley is co-founder of the Tea Party. She argues that promoting solar energy is entirely consistent with conservatism. But taking that message to Florida presents a challenge to the power of the fossil fuel industry who are determined to silence her. This video was published by the Guardian here.Read more here.
SALOON
A glimpse inside the world of the Indian barbershop where customers expect more than a just haircut. Saloon was part of the official selection for the London Short Film Festival 2012, the Atlanta Film Festival 2012 and the Florida Film Festival 2012. Saloon was also shortlisted for the 2011 Virgin Media Shorts Competition. Read more here.
MAKE SENSE OF EMPLOYEE LAW
What happens when an employee moves state? I worked with HR consultants and lawyers to produce this guide for Justworks’ small business customers.
I managed, produced and edited this video, sourcing archive material and working with motion graphic designers to illustrate a detail-heavy script so we might keep viewers not just informed but also engaged.
