During his long professional career, General Philip Russell was a significant figure in the development and distribution of vaccines. In this video, former colleagues and friends share their memories of Phil Russell, who died in 2021, describing his influence on their own lives and the contribution Phil made to public health. I conducted ten interviews – all of them remotely captured – to create a video, of which this is a shortened edit. The full-length video was displayed an event to celebrate Phil Russell’s life that was held in Seattle in November 2022. Working with the agency Burness, I produced, directed and edited this video for the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. The video also includes photos I took documenting the work of GAAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization) in India.
